I would have zero problem with you running ads, as long as they aren’t controlling your content. If you can get advertisers, by all means, go for it.

[…] This is a worthy project. You can view the current video “Al Qadr, Night of Power, 2.5.2007“, as well videos from the archives. […]

I must agree with jonny golstein. If you can accept advertising but still maintain integrity, then by all means, do so.
Meanwhile, I’ll send you a little bit (I’m poor).

I must agree that seeking out advertisers is a totally viable option for funding your program. As a frequent viewer, I would much rather see you fund your program instead of cancelling it all together. Keep up the good work!

I would have absolutely no problem with you running ads on the site. You should consider using the Revver video advertising technology to run a non-invasive post-plate/ post-roll at the end. I think this would be a great way for you to start turning a small profit which will enable you to continue working on this important project.

It would be nice if the ads could be put on a specific page or section of the site. That way they would not interfere or compete visually with the wonderful site content. And having their own special spot, they would seem like they have value on their own. People could go there because they want to see and support businesses that help keep the site going. This would give a better presentation of the ads as opposed to a forced, in-your-face display of them [which generally turns me off to products actually].
