The impact of war on children is terrible innocent victims

Ivan - 11/27/2006 09:45:03

Too upsetting to watch in full.
Makes you wonder who are the real terrorists in Irak, who are responsible for the largest number of deaths and suffering.
War on terror?

It brings me great hope, this project, that allows people to tell their own stories and it is vital that these stories be heard. My only issue with this one video is that the children are not necessarily consenting to be filmed, especially the last boy who seems to protest his short being lifted for the world to see. Why not let the children tell their own stories if they must be filmed?

Well, Bush didn’t get Osama or the weapons of mass destruction, but at least he got a lot of innocent children.

And since the americans keep dying in Iraq, seems like things are going along nicely.

Miguel - 02/27/2007 09:13:58

I can not undestand how americans can sleep at night nowing that the army and politicians are destroing lives every day in the name of egoism and excessive nationalism. Where is the americans decent people? Where?

This American is greatly disturbed by what we have done to Iraq. I might not have thought much of Saddam Hussein, but I am infuriated by our government’s incompetence for the last 6 years. I never thought Iraq had any connection to 9-11 and didn’t understand why 9-11 was used as an excuse to destroy the Iraqi people. I am working hard here in the US to try to improve the situation, but it is a lot of work and goes slowly. The work of Alive In Baghdad helps. I wish its videos made it to US news distributers like CNN.

[…] Alive in Baghdad has produced several shows examining these difficulties. Although primarily focused on the potential impact of depleted uranium, particularly in children, we have also interviewed a doctor, medical students, and a father whose daughter has a strange and unexplained illness. One previous blogger,Miguel, like many others I’m sure, cannot understand why America does not acknowledge and try to stop the horrible suffering and loss of life due to the wanton use of Depleted Uranium munitions. Miguel asks “where is the Americans decent people.” Unfortunately, the mainly conservative controlled media in America has been able to severely restrict the number of people who are aware of the devastation caused by Depleted Uranium munitions.
If someone could figure out a way to get this issue before the American people, it would go as long way toward helping those in need get the help they need and ending U.S. use of Depleted Uranium munitions.
